A Lyon's Share
This year, some friends have birthdays containing a zero.
Important to mark any birthday isn't it but especially landmark ones.
What's also lovely is that you can spread the festivities across weeks, even months with careful planning.
A return visit to Crouch End in north London for lunch here:

A belated celebratory repast with SP who marked a big birthday in April.
Lyon's is renowned for great seafood.
On this day though, & don't ask me why, I plumped for a rump.
Spring Lamb Rump, Black Garlic Skordalia, (a Greek dip made with potato), new season Peas & Wild Garlic (no kisses for me tonight).
The dayboat fish was the choice of my compadre.
Hake, Mussels & Curry Coconut Sauce.
To share, the most fantastic side of crispy Purple Broccoli & Anchovy
We'd saved a bit of room, not much, for a couple of puds.
SP had been eyeing up the Chocolate Fondant on the blackboard from the moment she'd walked in. It came with Hazelnut Cream.
The other dish, equally lush, was Roasted Rhubarb, Strawberry, Matcha Mousse & Pistachio.
Two spoons. Two extra dishes to serve up the delights in.
Every dish was savoured & SP loved Lyon's food.
We had a great afternoon catching up &, as you do with old chums, reminiscing about times past.
Including .. One year, we travelled to New York for an awards ceremony because one of our radio programmes about business between the UK &, as it was then, the EEC had been nominated in some category or other. What an opportunity, what a trip.
There was a meal pre-awards.
A New York waiter attends the table ..
To the pescetarian, SP: "Chicken or beef?" ..
SP: "Neither, is there a vegetarian or fish option?" ..
NYW: "Nah." ..
SP: "Ermm .. well, I'll need to eat something." ..
NYW: "Chicken or beef." ..
In the end SP was 'gifted' with a plate of ..
**DRUMROLL**
Overcooked & questionable vegetables.
Aside from that, we had a ball in NYC.
We came away with the Silver not the Gold Award .. but, hey, in Manhattan, “whatcha gonna do?” ..
