Mixed Feelings

Not sure how I feel about this.

A very kind friend tapped on my door and said, ‘Here. It’s Mince Pie.’

(Gritted teeth. In September?????)

Don’t get me wrong. I love Mince Pies. In fact, I REALLY love Mince Pies. I could live off Mince Pies.

But…. in season.

It’s like Hot Crossed Buns.

Only at Easter … and by Easter I don’t mean late January. There’s a reason for them - I’m not religious but… there’s a reason.

Turkey with all the trimmings - acceptable as sandwiches early December and then as full blown ‘with all the trimmings’ from mid-December. Who doesn’t like a Turkey Dinner… apart from the Turkey (obvs).

Am i being too picky?

Well anyway … I ate the Mince Pie and enjoyed it. I just pretended it was an Eccles Cake.

Everything in the right place, at the right time.

Call me old fashioned.
