Curry On Nottingham
It's time for a trip back to Nottingham to see the 'fam' as my Step Sis insists on calling us at the moment.
**RaisedEyebrows** from me.
**HootsOfLaughter** from her.
We have a super Sunday afternoon out & about. There's a garden centre involved which seems to sell everything. I mean everything; sweatshirts, shoes, crockery, lighting, knitting patterns, toupées, budgies etc .. Well, not the last three, but you get the idea.
Afterwards, refreshments are taken here:
https://www.theairhostesstollerton.co.uk a pub owned & run by locals.
Sunday lunch venue:

It's pub grub & they ask you to order your roast in advance in case they run out. Sensible planning. The food was okay, generous portions but, a bit too much for me. I'm not good with a crammed plate, I feel defeated before I've begun.
Home to my hotel before understanding that the UK's about to be hit by the hottest temperatures in years. I'm due to be back in London on Monday. I just thought, I'll think about that tomorrow. There were options.
Just as well. No trains were leaving for St Pancras as the extreme heat kicked in. Hotel booked for another night & a call to Robert. Generally, I call him whenever there's a problem I need help with to sort out.
He always finds a solution & offers comforting words: "Where are you going to eat this evening?" ..
I reply: "Thinking a good & tasty curry & I know just the place." .. https://www.maharajas-retreat.co.uk
For me it was the Chicken Punjabi Karahi with Roasted Tomatoes & Peppers, Onions, Garlic & Ginger plus fresh Coriander. I asked for the best accompaniments & the recommendations were some Garlic & Onion Rice & a Garlic Naan. All delicious. It was just what I needed. Warming, spicy, satisfying, comforting.
There was not much sleep in the 29 degree heat & so I was up with the sparrows. Robert messaged me at 0430 to let me know that it looked like there would be a train for London leaving at 0612.
