A Beast of a Cheese
It had been a long week & I wanted a treat.
Dirty cheese.
Found it. Paxton & Whitfield
I have been to their shop on Jermyn Street in London a good few times. You open the door to the store &, shortly afterwards, first aiders arrive as you lie prostrate having passed out from the joy of inhaling & seeing the carnival of cheese before you. I asked if I could bring a sleeping bag & stay for the weekend.
Their online business is impeccable as well & that was the route I decided to take this time around. Spotted on the homepage - a very naughty French number. I could have eaten it with a spoon.
Please welcome the Brillat Savarin. Creamy cow milk. And ..

For the next few days, despite being in an enclosed container in the fridge, this cheese was welcoming me home from work as I stepped off the bus. It ruled the roost.
"I'm still here & I'm in charge now."
And it was.
