I have 'previous' when it comes to researching, organising & booking restaurants for holidays.
Browsing travel books and restaurant websites for recommendations & menus makes me very happy. The perusing is generally only for an hour or so.
Okay, sometimes, a bit more than that but it's spread over several days.
Okay, sometimes, a few weeks.
For Bologna, this establishment kept calling me & so, once there was clearance from the travelling companion, JW, I booked ..

Tuesday evening in La Gassa & we're in. It's a magnificent setting & you can already feel that much takes place here. Important things like eating great food, drinking good wine, talking about the important stuff in life & then laughing about it.
Our waiter is fabulous & brings us cocktails - a Negroni for JW & a Vodka Martini (very dry with a twist) for me.
There's intense concentration as the menus are viewed before choices are made.

Fritto Gamberi Bianchi e Zucchine - Fried Prawns & Courgettes
Coda di Rospo alla Griglia - Grilled Monkfish
Scaloppine al Limone - Escalope with Lemon
All our dishes were delivered by our waiter via trolley which somehow made the dining experience that little bit more special.

There was no space left for cheese or a sweet treat.
A nice walk home in the late summer heat to stretch the legs & to reflect upon a wonderful meal in one of Bologna's finest establishments.
It felt very special & I was very pleased that the time taken to check out where to eat in this great city had paid off.
