It's a weekday lunch on a week off for me in this favourite haunt. Rather than the upstairs dining room, myself & my friend are eating in the bar area today. There are many reasons why I love coming here; the food, first & foremost, a great wine and cocktail selection, great service plus it's a cosy & good looking interior. There are hounds around as well. They have their own menu ..

I mean, I wouldn't turn down any of those, would you?

However .. we shifted our attention away from the canine delectables in favour of the following ..

Soda Bread & Butter (Not for me, I'm still keeping away from bread at the moment)
Anchovies, Marinated Red Pepper & Capers
Grilled English Asparagus, Burrata, Pea Shoots, Nasturtium Vinaigrette 

Cornish Hake, Trout Roe, Butter Sauce, New Potatoes, SeaShore Vegetables & Monksbeard

All washed down with a chilled bottle of red wine - La Trompa

Cheese board: Cornish Yarg & Tunworth, Spiced Pear Chutney with Lavosh Crackers

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with good things to eat & drink in the most convivial setting &, most importantly, the very best company.
