Hart To Hart's
Do you remember Hart to Hart?
From 1979 to 1984 we followed the globe-trotting adventures of amateur detectives Jonathan and Jennifer Hart played by Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers.
Robert & I both do a passable impersonation of Max who was played by Lionel Stander. He was the loved up couple's loyal, gravelly-voiced butler, cook, oh & yes, chauffeur.
Having made that bold claim of mimicry, the only oft-repeated phrase by Max which Robert & myself can actually utter is ..
"It was moyder" ('murder' said with a New York twang).
Anyway . .. I was reminded of this TV show recently when I stayed at Hart's Hotel in Nottingham.

I was in a Garden Room which had fantastic views across the city. An old friend was also staying the night & we met up for supper.
It was a nice feeling thinking that, after a freshen up, it was just a couple of flights of stairs to a restaurant to go & eat in.
Here were the choices taken ..
To share as a starter ..
Twice Baked Goat Cheese Soufflé with Waldorf Salad
To the mains ..
My chum opts for ..
Pan Fried Halibut with Sautéed Seasonal Root Vegetables, Chorizo & Chickpea Purée
For me ..
Grilled Fillet Steak with Hasselback Potatoes, Asparagus, Chanterelle Mushrooms, Carrot Purée & Red Wine Sauce
Happy faces for both of us. The food was excellent & just what we wanted. Food clearly cooked with care and attention to detail - looked great, tasted wonderful.
Full tums then.
"Are you having a pudding?"
"No."
"Okay."
"Do you want one?"
"We'll have a look."
Next to arrive at the table then ..
Warm Chocolate Pudding with Hazelnut Ice Cream
There was a nightcap in my room for both of us where, on the telly, was Sex and The City. My friend had never seen it.
I mean .. WWHHAATT?
And just like that .. there was a perfect televisual candy floss for the eyes ending to the evening.
