Hola València - III

The days here in València are spent walking & exploring from mid morning onwards.
Post-noon, for one of us there's a coffee booster required. For the other, a local traditional beer which has been brewed since 1935.
It's called Turia Märzen & the name comes from the river whose course was changed to curtail what had become constant flooding in the city. It's now a huge belt of land which crosses the centre of València from west to east. This former riverbed is now an enormous circular garden which takes you past museums & historic monuments. Traverseing it you'll see lots of runners, walkers, cyclists - there are playgrounds to keep little ones entertained and keep fit playgrounds to keep the bigger ones happy.
My companion is clocking our steps daily & after we passed 15,000 on our first full day, it was back to our home. On the way there we passed an Italian restaurant (I know, the irony,) which was heaving with very happy-looking folk.
We decided to try it for our evening supper.
Right move.
Despite not having a reservation, we got lucky.

For our first evening meal out together in this grand city, well, this place fitted the bill perfectly. Fiscally as well.
Albeit Italian .. but we knew that we'd be partaking of the more local cuisine in the coming days. This was close to home, this was busy with locals, really busy - always a great omen, right?
