A Tale of Two Chairs
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
Surroundings make all the difference.
The photo above taken during my last trip to Corfu, during a morning run along the front at Roda in the north of the island. It was the one of those views that made me stop and smile.
It’s happiness.
All the time in the world to sit in the sun and enjoy watching the world go by, the sea - doing sea things - and tracing the outline of the Albanian mountains in the distance. Perhaps sitting with a rough red wine and nibbling on a bit of local cheese with biscuits. A Corfu cat weaving around my feet. Simple pleasures.
Temperatures — oooh, must have been all of 21 degrees.
And then back home. Sitting in a cafe in Bangor.
Temperatures not far off 28 degrees. Just on the fringes of the heatwave affecting the south of England. I’m sure that AMM will have something to say about that.
Drinking an overpriced, mass produced coffee, not particularly tasty. Having just turned down a Vegan Sausage Roll. Staring at boarded up shops.
And wishing I was far away, doing simple things.
