Tapas Sisters
Hermanas que aman las tapas.
Or ..
Sisters who love tapas.
There were a few family days back in Nottingham.
A birthday & a gathering at a pub - The Plough in Hickling, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire: https://www.ploughinnhickling.com They have really friendly & helpful staff. Most of us at the table went for a roast option. My choice was the beef with a Yorkshire. There was too much on the plate for me which is an immediate 'no' .. You may know, dear reader, that I am a very slow eater & by the time that I was done there was much left & this did not go unnoticed by my companions.
Anyhow, the next day ..
My BFF, her sister, my Step Sis & me are headed here for lunch: https://www.baribericotapas.com
No bookings taken unless there are ten or more coming to eat however. Four of us on a Monday? We'll risk it. It was busy but we got a great window table. Cava to begin as we peruse.
Here's what was ordered & devoured ..
Pork Belly Pinchos, Soy Sauce Caramel, Pickled Fennel
Gambas, Chilli & Tamarind, Crispy Shallot, Coriander
Crispy Cauliflower, Ginger, Chilli, Smoked Almonds
Lamb Breast, Red Hummus, Hazelnut Dukkah
Catalan Tomato Bread & Serrano Ham
Octopus & Potato Pinchos, Mojo Rojo
Crispy Chicken & Spicy Jerez Sauce
Patatas Bravas, Aioli
I mentioned that it was just the four of us having lunch, right?
To wash the treats down, we had two bottles of a delicious Rosé Cava - a Vilarnau NV Spain.
Time to depart & to settle up.
BFF & me decide to treat our respective sisters to lunch.
There's some resistance until BFF simply says: "We're sisters, & sometimes this is what we like to do for each other .."
