West End Girls - I
Some family in London Town for the weekend.
Step Sis & Niece.
I have made some plans ahead of their visit from Nottingham. They all involve eating & drinking.
The girls arrive on a warm Spring afternoon & our first stop is here: https://www.firmdalehotels.com/hotels/london/ham-yard-hotel/ham-yard-bar-restaurant/
Friday cocktails in the heart of Theatreland. Cheap they were not but delicious they were.
These were the picks for us:
HAM YARD TONIC (X2)
Portobello Road gin, Campari, Chase elderflower liqueur, grapefruit bitters, homemade tonic water
VODKA MARTINI (X1)
Dry with a Twist
NEGRONI (X1)
I even ate the orange slice
BLACK MARGARITA (X2)
Thyme fat-washed Vivir Blanco, lime, agave, homemade blackberry purée, black salt
Refreshed, we head around the corner to one of my favourite bistros: https://www.andrewedmunds.com/gallery
It's an early repast because the ladies are off to see the Bob Marley musical, Get Up, Stand Up. We had the window table (special request) & they loved the place, the relaxed, but so professional, servers & of course the food.
For two of us it was Asparagus with Hot Butter to start, for the other, Burrata with Chicory, Hazelnuts & Balsamic.
Then to the business of the main event.
A Barnsley Chop chosen by the youngest & Cod with Broad Beans & Peas for the elders. Two sides of New Potatoes & Greens to share.
No time for pud as I've got to get these darlings to the Lyric Theatre.
Saturday will hold new adventures though.
