Solo Dining III
To Glasgow for work for a couple of days.
Been a while since my last visit here.
One of my favourite cities to be in, always. I enjoy the vibrancy Glasgow has.
I would normally be with friends but there's a case of the 'Cove' & so a central hotel was the temporary home.
A pre-booked supper at the local Ivy: https://theivyglasgow.com
When I was booking there was that usual question: "Do you have any special requests?" ..
To which I replied: "As a solo diner, I would really appreciate a discreet place to be seated please." ..
Dear reader, this came to pass.
A lovely table by a window from which to look through & judge passer-bys - c'est parfait.
Just one course for me which was one of the specials that day.
Veal Milanese with Lemon & Caper Butter
Truffle & Parmesan Chips
A Vodka Martini (dry with a twist)
A glass of New Zealand Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir
Excellent on every level, the service, the food, the setting.
After a long stint at work, a flight north & a busy Wednesday waiting in the wings, this was a nice way to end the day.
