Cookery Postcards
A Saturday morning & the post has just arrived.
I think I heard a postcard drop onto the mat.
The simple joy of receiving a handwritten communication bringing news from friends of recent travels & meals.
A little while ago one of my chums bought me a box of Penguin Cookery Postcards - 100 cookbook covers in one box.
Happiness unbridled.
The box itself is a thing of beauty.
Gems contained within.
It is a culinary set of 100 cookbook covers curated by Penguin Art Director, John Hamilton. A potted history of book jacket art over the last sixty or so years.
The designs are from many countries & spotlight varied cuisines.
They are special to me so therefore I am discerning when it comes to dispensing them.
Later today I'm going to write one to send to Robert.
Oh, & I was right, it was a postcard which landed earlier. Two friends & their hound who had just visited here:

I'm now going to sit down with a glass of wine & take time to read about what they made of their trip & if they ate there.
Obviously.
