Foreign travel off the cards for some while I fear….

But not impossible to bring the pleasures of travel to your doorstep.

It was so hot the other day, I retreated to the garage to clear some space in the Tardis (recording booth). Much of it taken up by copious amounts of Mulled Wine, which only ever gets an airing in the winter.

But wait …

It’s surely almost Sangria, I thought.

How?

Into a big pan…

Bottle of Mulled Wine (Unaccountably cheap from the supermarket)

500ml Orange Juice.

100g Sugar

Rough cubes of 2 Oranges, 2 Lemons and I found a sad forgotten Lime that met its destiny in this recipe.

Fruitwise I ended there, although you can add all sorts - Strawberries, Blueberries, Apples etc.

Cinnamon Stick.

Cook it all up for a bit.

Off the heat,

Then add…

200ml of Brandy.

250ml of Lemonade or Soda Water.

Into the fridge.

Serve over ice.

Dreaming of Summer breezes, garlic prawns, alioli and crusty bead, strolls along the beach, the sun setting majestically over the sea to the sound of a Mariachi band.
