Radish Challenge 2
I am rather grateful to AMM for her challenge to do something creative with radishes. I assume she meant in the kitchen. Maybe she meant artistically. Must ask her.
But the scales have been lifted from my eyes as to their usefulness.
They found their way into a delicious Chinese-style soup this week. Gave a nice texture, and soaked up a lot of the flavours.
Easily done… fry off some garlic, chopped radishes, spring onions, ginger. I added some chopped chorizo, and shitake mushrooms. Sprinkle some flour over the top, and I added some chicken stock I had left over from a chicken dinner. In with some chunky noodles.
Nutritionally speaking.
They have long been used to treat sore throats, fever, bile disorders and inflammation.
Virtually no fat and low in calories. High in vitamin C. Can help fight some cancers. Full of fibre.
But
Not so good if you have thyroid problems.
However
I have found a rich seam of radish recipes - they are there if you look. Some of which may well find their way into the blog.
AMM what have you done.
