Brief Reunion
My Godson & I have always shared a passion for food.
Even since he was knee-high to a grasshopper.
We love to talk about what we've been eating & cooking at home.
One of our favourite ways to pass an afternoon or an evening is to share a meal at a new restaurant or an old trusted reliable one.
We were hoping to get together for our usual pre-festive feast but, well, you know the rest.
Today's been the first time we've been able to see each other in months. It's outdoors & without the hug. (He's always been a great hugger, even during the teenage years).
The morning looked promising weatherwise though a few dark clouds were hovering around.
There was a lovely walk & a swapping of family & friend news.
Then time for a takeaway lunch. Just as the heavens opened.
Shelter taken under a cinema entrance.
A Chicken Schnitzel Wholemeal Beigel & Green Tea for him.
A Chicken Matzo Ball Soup & Breakfast Tea for me.
There was also an exchange of home made jars of joy.
Sauerkraut for me.
Apples, Pears & Star Anise for him.
How I’ve missed him.
