O Canada
Looking through some photos recently that I had taken back in my second favourite place on the planet - Vancouver.
This welcoming city has everything. Mountains. Water. A lot of water. Weather. A lot of weather.
And coffee.
I hadn't drunk this stuff in years. What changed was chancing upon Delany's on Denman Street at the end of a very pleasant trot along the waterfront. One of those runs which brings unbridled joy.
Delany's was busy. Always promising to see that. It's a cosy hangout in the city's West End. I'd forgotten how intoxicating that coffee aroma was. It seemed wrong to be going to the counter for tea & water. And, so, time for my first coffee in 150 years. It was fantastic. First, sniffing the steam of it (I did a house blend), and then tasting it. Why had this affair ended? Poor quality, high street nastiness everywhere you look - that's what put me off.
Anyway, here it is .. my reintroduction ..
Came home to Blighty.
Back on tea.
