Working Ladies
A London walk, helping some folk & a bite to eat.
I'm lucky to work with some wonderful women. Our differing hours mean that it's not very easy to get together. An opportunity presented itself one weekend. A gentle stroll along the Thames which would also raise a few quid for some charities. These weren't big organisations but small groups of individuals who had rallied together, unified by life-changing events. They have to really battle for every penny.
The work girlies found a Sunday morning when we could do our bit, raise a few coffers, (which we did), enjoy each other's company, take in the London skyline & .. have lunch.
Our route was from Tower Bridge to the South Bank. It was a gorgeous afternoon in every way.
The culinary reward was a trip to the Skylon Restaurant:
Cocktails to begin. A Vodka Martini for me, dry with a twist
I dodged any starter. Tempted, but there'd be no room for the main event
Without exception, the five of us went for the roast beefer
A hearty red Rioja for those who wanted to partake
Some had puds. I didn't
Full
However, I did opt for a glass of Barolo instead
