Not just ....

I try to cook simply …
I like simple food.
But every now and then I create something, that in the describing. it turns into something too ridiculous to be true.
Behold!
Minted Welsh Lamb, With a Cropwell Bishop Blue Stilton Topping, on a bed of buttered Welsh Leeks and Jasmine Rice, showered with Parmigiano Shavings, and Smoked Chipotle Bread Crumbs, escorted with an Nduja and Marscapone Sauce.
I mean, how ridiclous is that.
It tasted fab, but you have to wonder when and how did this craze for coming up with elaborative descriptions for things start? Maybe it was always there, but hidden behind short form titles - such as Losbter Thermidore or Beef Wellington. You know what you’re getting, but it’s described in just a couple of words.
Personally I blame Masterchef and Supermarket TV ads, which use slow mo filming, and tumbling erotic food, to accompany a littany of adjectives.
Does it make food taste better?
Nah.
