To the South West for a couple of days.
Banksy. Street Art.
Oh, & Ravioli.
First, there was Storm Éowyn to contend with. Less of a problem for me travelling from London but, for the cousin visiting from Dublin, it was touch & go as to whether or not her flight would be cancelled.
A few hours delay & a bumpy ride to say the least but she made it.
Our first meal out in this city is here ..
https://www.pastaripiena.co.uk
To our choices then ..
Focaccia, EVOO, Balsamic
Scarpinocc of Taleggio & Ricotta, Datterini Tomatoes, Walnut Pesto, Pecorino Toscana
Triangoli of beef Bolognese, Celeriac, Cime di Rapa, Chianti jus, Caciocavallo
To drink ..
Montressor ‘San Pietro’ Valpolicella, 2023, Trentino, Italy
Jay Raynor's a fan btw .. It was partly this review which led to my booking ..
It was the best ravioli I have ever tasted. Soft, it melted in the mouth to then taste the unctuous gems within.
There was a good night's kip & I woke up to a glorious blue sky - it was as if the storm had never happened.
Breakfast taken, it was time to hit the streets for a walking tour.

Another very special meal. What a treat. The service & food, utterly impeccable.
Apart from the culinary & artistic discoveries of the weekend, I also learnt that Avon is the Celtic word for the river.
So .. the River Avon is actually the River River.
I do love a weekend away.
