Christmas Lunch - 2024 - IV
To Enfield for a family festive lunch.
What a history this pub has.

Apparently Dick Turpin's Grandfather, one Mr Knott, used to own this building. There's even a spot where Black Bess, Turpin's steed, would have been tethered. I chose to arrive by taxi.
This is a real cosy retreat. A proper jewel of a public house.
An impressive & inviting menu as well.
Three of us for a family get together before Christmas.

The choices?
A Nut Roast
A Roast Beef
A Roast Turkey (me)
A proud Yorkshire Pud on every plate
A big dish of Cauliflower Cheese in the middle of the table to share
We ate heartily & talked of our respective festive plans. The daylight was in short supply on Sunday &, as dusk fell, the comfort of the lights in the Rose & Crown and the congenial company felt just perfect.
We wondered if The Dandy Highwayman ever ate & drank as well as we did at this spot.
