Bonjour Mon Vieil Ami Lyon - II
Day three & it's time to revisit my favourite place to eat in Lyon.
Bonjour 'Monsieur P'.
It's located on the square where the Théâtre des Célestins is - a magnificent place - built on the vestiges of a Celestine monastery.
It's my third visit to this restaurant which, in my broken French, I share with the waiter and sommelier adding that it's always a joy to return.
There's a glass of Champagne to begin & a different glass of wine is being recommended for each course.
To begin .. Truite de Fontaine, Melon & Tagète - Brook Trout, Melon & Mariflor
Next comes .. Quasi de Veau, Haricot Coco Rouge & Oseille Rouge - Veal Rump Steak, Haricot Red Coco Beans & Red Sorrel
Finally .. Sélection de Fromages - Selection of Cheeses
As usual, the food was outstanding. Plus there were little extras like an Onion Velouté & Brioche Appetiser & 'Chef's Memories' which was a warm custard tart. Monsieur P boxed that for me because I was full. It made for an excellent sweet treat for breakfast the next day.
The wine choices were also perfect (a Loire Valley white & two different light reds..).
The final words go to Monsieur P ..
My love for good things naturally brings me closer to my native region of which I am so proud.
I like to pass on my passion for products to those around me.
AMM
