Football Frenzy & Food
Back in Nottingham for family & food.
It's also a crucial weekend in the Premier League.
I'm a north London girl & an Arsenal fan but find myself back in the city where I grew up.
Oh & on this day Nottingham Forest are at home to the Gunners. An important match for both teams.
Forest, desperate to keep out of the relegation zone.
Arsenal, seeing their hopes of taking the title this year, having topped the table all season, slipping from their grasp.
I'm not at the City Ground though. I'm eating solo & then later with family as well. Of course I am.
I sent Robert a pic of where I was having a light bite for brunch. It's where we frequented each morning on the trip where I introduced him to the joys of this city ..
I had their pâté of the day which was a delicious pork rillette with sourdough, balsamic onions, cornichons, rocket and chutney. Sharpness, sweetness, meatiness and bread to keep everything together on the plate & dans la bouche.
For the Sunday lunch, another haunt of mine where Robert & I tucked into a delicious & hearty repast ..
Drinks to begin what was a lunch where I'm keeping an eye on the clock for a train at 1430 to London.
It had to be the beef again for the two of us eating this time around.
Two different starters.
Pea Volouté & Foie Royal
Anyway.
Forest beat Arsenal 1-0.
Cross. Deflated after what a brilliant season they'd had until the last couple of months.
Here's the thing though: Forest staying up should be good for their finances, ergo, for the city as well.
Hope to be back there soon.
Nottingham, that is, not the City Ground.
