It's A Family Affair

A much loved cousin from Dublin is in London Town & so it's time for the family from this side of the sea to gather.

I was in charge of bringing folk together & of finding somewhere to host 8 of us for lunch.

After much research, too many emails to mention, I finally found & booked a table in Brindisa in South Kensington.

I arrived first because, well, just because. I felt responsible for the afternoon & wanted to be there to welcome the clan.

Our table was in a great position with a top view of the busy kitchen & also away from the busy hubbub of Exhibition Road on a half -term weekend in SW7.

There was this to begin for some of us: Colet 'Tradicional' Extra Brut NV Classic Penedès 2017. An absolutely lovely, biscuity drop to drink.

Beers for others.

We decided to split our table into 2 halves when it came to ordering the food.

We were so well looked after by the staff all afternoon.

Pre-ordering, one of my cousins said to me:

"Anne-Marie, don't even think about ordering the pollock dish, you're the slowest eater I've ever met & it'll be cold 10 minutes after landing on the table." ..

Me: "Fair point & noted." ..

We ate for a good two hours nonstop. Post-feast, pudding was never mentioned once.

Why?

Talking, laughing & making plans to get together again.

Family = food.
