World Service
I'm back in Nottingham for a few days & it's time to get reacquainted with the city.
There's a stroll under a blue sky & I'm clocking what's changed & what hasn't.
The Council House & the Lions are still in place, thankfully.
Cloughie's statue & the Leaf Stem also unmoved.
I'm dining solo here this evening - The World Service Restaurant.
You're well looked after whether or not it's just you or a group of family & friends.
A little cocktail to start as the menu is checked out
To begin - it's Flaked Cod with Smoked Yolk, Salt Baked Celeriac, Pickled Mushroom, Onions & Soy Broth
Who knew that a soft egg on a fat fillet of cod could bring so much joy
To follow - Derbyshire Fillet of Beef & the plate mates are Confit Potato, Crispy Onions, Oxtail, Parsnip, Carrot, Shallot
My drinking companion is a Brouilly Beaujolais
An evening walk around the Market Square as the light disappears before heading home.
