Vancouver - Time To Say Goodbye

A parting lunch before my flight home to Blighty.

A meal was booked in at Joe Fortes, a big part of the city's culinary history. The restaurant was named in honour of a British/Canadian gent who settled in English Bay before becoming Vancouver's first ever lifeguard. Check out his story at their website.
To borrow (sort of) from the Bassey who is a Dame:
“The minute I walked in the joint
I could see you were a place of distinction
A real big spender
Good lookin’ so refined
Say, wouldn’t you like to know
what’s goin’ on in my mind? ”
A Dry Vodka Martini with a twist, that's what.
To say farewell to Vancouver there was a walk on the beach ahead of what promised to be a feast.
Local oysters - asked for a recommendation from the waiter - West Coast Premium
He wasn't wrong
I went for 3

Impressive bottles of bubbles on the counter behind me
Main event was the Lobster & Shrimp Roll, homemade bread & salad
I nearly fainted when it arrived at my table
Tried in vain to cut the roll into manageable bitesize pieces
This was a pointless pursuit
I needed a bib
D E L I C I O U S
It was a great way to round off one of the most amazing trips of my life so far.
I was reluctant to leave not only Joe Fortes but the city.
See you soon Vancouver
