The best things with the food of the gods?

A N Y T H I N G

This pic was of the cheese trolley which greeted my friend SJ and me on a significant birthday. All French. All magnificent. 

On a nippy evening I sometimes recreate one of the best cheesy treats I was privileged to eat as a little one. Posh Rarebit.

Massive couple of handfuls of grated Cheddar

A beaten egg

A few healthy shakes of the Worcestershire Sauce bottle

Onion (spring or others, a few thinly sliced, although I like a lot of them)

Mustard (again, whatever you're in the mood for, Dijon, English etc ..) a tsp

Excellent bread (you choose how many slices)

Mix all the wet stuff together with the cheese 

Season

Grill the bread one side to your taste

Get a big spoon and chuck a good old helping of the cheesy goodness onto the untoasted sides of the slices & pop them back under the grill

It will bubble & brown

Take it out 

Get a napkin. This will be messy.
