Can we talk garlic breath?

Here's a thing. A favourite dish daily for the composer Johannes Brahms, in his restaurant of choice, was sardines. From the tin. No cutlery. At the table. He drank the fishy oil as well.

He never married.

I've never worried about having garlicky breath post-meal. Never.

Sunday lunch with AG was here. It's one of our treasured places - The Hawksmoor

Before the feast there's a pre-prandial glass of Rosé fizz at Bedales in Borough Market.

Before the main event this is my mantra:

**NO STARTER**

So, I went for the Beetroot & Hazelnut Salad

I'm weak. What can I say?

Then it's Roast Beef. Pink. Yorkshire Puddings the size of, well, Yorkshire. The crispiest Roast Spuds. Cabbage. Carrots. Onion Gravy & ..

HALF A BULB OF ROASTED GARLIC

Squeeze the juicy cloves over the meat

Extra Horseradish & English Mustard

I didn't need pudding, obviously.

2 scoops of Salted Caramel Ice Cream.

Again. I'm weak.
